This tridosha balancing smoothie recipe is packed with antioxidants and is made with three valuable natural supplements: triphala, wheatgrass and matcha. This combination of superfoods comes together in this delicious mango smoothie. We could almost call it a medicine, but one that tastes good, is natural and has no bad side effects.

Benefits of using Triphala

Triphala is an Ayurvedic mixture of three dried fruits, namely Amalaki, Bibhitaki  and Haritaki. The scientific name of Triphala is simply Tri (meaning three) + Phala (meaning fruit) = Triphala, very intuitive.

Ayurveda reveals that Triphala is also known as the Tridoshic Rasayana, referring to its therapeutic effects on the Vata, Pitta and Kapha Doshas.

Some health aspects can benefit from taking triphala regularly.

Immune System

Through its Triphala Rasayana, rejuvenating properties, it strengthens the immune system. It is rich in antioxidants, which help fight against oxidative stress. In this way, it also fights lethargy and fatigue in the body by generating energy and getting rid of the bodily toxins.

Diabetes

Triphala is rich in healthcare properties that can help people manage diabetes and other similar diseases by inhibiting glycolytic enzymes. The presence of tannins, which are polyphenols that bind and precipitate proteins, and the promotion of lower blood glucose levels, also inhibit and prevent glycation. In simpler words, it inhibits the digestion and absorption of starch,‌ preventing post-meal hyperglycemia, an excess of sugar in the blood.

Eye Care, Skin and Hair Problems

Triphala antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help heal and prevent dermatological issues like skin inflammation, redness, acne, oxidative injury, dryness of the skin, etc.

Triphala does wonders for healing wounds, as it increases collagen formation and reduces the risk of infection because of harmful bacteria. Rich in vitamin C because of Amla, Triphala suits every skin type, eliminating the risk of side effects. Regular use of products, especially ones with heavy chemicals, can take a toll on your hair.

Arthritis and Gout

Triphala has shown anti-arthritic effects in a study on rats, reducing the inflammation caused by arthritis.

The study showed that Triphala might flush out excess uric acid and naturally lower uric acid levels, relieving unpleasant symptoms of gout.

Triphala has a lot more benefits for very specific illnesses. For example, it may restore healthy enzymes in the stomach to prevent and cure stomach ulcers, treat hyperacidity, aid in liver problems due to its rejuvenating quality, treat asthma,  dental disease and cavities etc.]

Wheatgrass benefits

Wheatgrass is also a valuable source of vitamins like K, E, C, different antioxidants, chlorophyll and beta carotine.

It is great for:

Benefits of taking matcha

Matcha contains both caffeine and L-theanine, which combined provide you with long-lasting energy. Matcha is also packed with powerful antioxidants, flavonoids, and vitamin C, supporting the immune system, healthy skin, brain, and liver.
