Masala Chai is made with cinnamon, cardamom, anise and ginger. An extremely rich and aromatic combination of spices that has a delicious flavor. This tea is great for warming you up in winter and autumn, as well as bringing all the medicinal properties of these spices.

Masala Chai
A delicious, energizing tea that can be used to replace a coffee or sweet treat in the afternoon.
Ingredients
- 1 L water
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tbsp brown sugar/coconut sugar
- 10 cardamon
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder or 1 cm fresh ginger
- Black tea (optional)
Instructions
- Add water and milk in a pan and bring it to a boil with sugar and spices. Cover it with a lid and let it cook on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, and if if you use black tea, add it at the end and let it steep for max 5 minutes.
- Sieve the mixture and serve it warm with some honey and milk foam. Sprinkle some cinnamon and cardamon powder for more flavour.

Recommendations for doshas:
Vata: Masala chai is perfect to stabilize Vata energy, especially between 14:00-18:00. It relieves fatigue, nervousness, and cravings in a healthy way.
Pitta: Leave the Ginger out of this recipe, which creates extra heat for Pitta.
Kapha: use some almond milk or other non-diary drink and avoid extra sweetness. It could be a good breakfast instead of drinking it between meals.
