Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a mixer (a high-speed mixer will give you the best results). Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth consistency. Use frozen cherries for a refreshing result, or blend in some ice cubes. Adapt the amount of liquid to get the desired consistency.

Notes

The caloric value was calculated per serving.
As Triphala has sweet, sour, astringent, and bitter qualities, can be added to this smoothie to balance all doshas.
Extra benefits:
• healthy skin and eyes;
• promotes longevity;
• rejuvenation of the digestive tract.
More reasons why you should use Triphala regularly are listed here and try the Tridosha-balancing-smoothie.
Recommendations for doshas:
Vata: is a good recipe for an afternoon snack. Carob is a great alternative to cocoa powder. It does not overstimulate the nervous system and provides extra calcium and a natural chocolate taste. Avoid drinking it cold.
Pitta: Cherries have heating qualities which can increase pitta. Replace them with strawberries, for example.
Kapha: Without bananas and dates is a good smoothie for Kapha. Use cacao powder instead of carob. Cacao has heating and bitter qualities, which are beneficial for a kapha type.
