Notes

The caloric value was calculated per serving.
Benefits:
Cacao is a great source of antioxidants, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, cacao is hot, bitter, and difficult to digest.
Recommendations for doshas:
Vata: Cacao can over-activate the fragile nervous system of Vata. Reduce the
amount of it, if Vata is out of balance. And of course, drink this smoothie at room temperature.
Pitta: Cacao has a heating effect, which may potentially aggravate Pitta's energy,
especially in the summer months. Adding some cooling spices like cardamom or mint can be helpful.
Kapha: Pure cacao can be a welcome source of stimulation for the body and mind, which often causes lethargy or slowness.
However, adding fat and sweeteners will aggravate the specific heavy energy of Kapha.
Use, for example, some cinnamon or dry ginger powder, remove the dates, and use fewer pecan nuts to reduce the oiliness.
